On February 1, a law came into force , according to which social networks are obliged to block so-called inappropriate content posted by users, as well as materials containing mat.

Illegal materials include materials containing information on the preparation and use of drugs and disrespect for the authorities and the state, calls for riots and suicide, child pornography.

On May 1, 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law to ensure the sustainable operation of the Russian segment of the Internet in the event of disconnection from the global infrastructure.

The document, in particular, provided for the creation of a monitoring and control center for a public communications network under Roskomnadzor. The structure will ensure the availability of communication services in Russia in any "extraordinary" situations.



On June 20, during the "direct line", the head of state spoke about the law on a sustainable Internet. Putin noted that the law is not aimed at restrictions, its main task is to ensure the smooth operation of the Network. On November 1, the law came into force.
