Most of the requests from Roskomnadzor (RKN) sent to the administration of the YouTube video platform with a request to remove restrictions on materials from Russian media were ignored. This was reported by the press service of the Russian department.

Due to the refusal of the social network to remove prohibited content on March 10, Roskomnadzor began to slow down its work in the Russian Federation
Since the beginning of last year, RKN has sent 29 letters to YouTube requesting the removal of a number of restrictions, seven of which contained a repeated request. However, the platform administration ignored most of the department's requests.

“Increasingly, YouTube blocks videos that convey to the viewers of the video hosting a position that differs from the position taken in the West. Videos that tell the truth about the historical contribution of Russia to the victory over fascism, about the tragic events in Beslan are blocked under far-fetched pretexts, " Interfax quotes Roskomnadzor's message .

According to information provided by Roskomnadzor, in 2020 the video hosting platform restricted access to domestic media accounts nine times, and three times to materials. In the first four months of this year, three accounts and five materials from the Russian media were blocked.

On April 10, Roskomnadzor turned to the social network Facebook with a demand to remove restrictions on the broadcast dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight into space.

It was about a live broadcast of the RT channel, in which such cosmonauts as Andrei Borisenko, Sergei Ryazansky and Anna Kikina took part. The broadcast was blocked by the decision of the Facebook administration under the pretext of copyright infringement.
